By Ruth Strong  ( ISBN: 1 898082 05 7)

Two hundred years of hostelries in a West Yorkshire Town.

"It provides a vividly detailed account of the individual pubs, but sets them clearly in historical context.
As such this book will be of great interest not only to the people of Pudsey, but to anyone wishing to learn something of the history of this institution."

Walks around Pudsey, Farsley and Calverley Walks around Pudsey, Farsley and Calverley
New revised edition 1996 ( ISBN: 1 898082 02 2)

Pudsey , being located between Leeds and Bradford, is not often thought of as an area where country walks are possible. The fact is that there are many footpaths and rights-of-way in the substantial green-belt areas which adjoin Pudsey. In this book the pleasures of the countryside are combined with the historical and archaeological interests which abound in this relatively compact area. The book contains seven walks, all of modest distances of two to six miles, and is intended as an introduction to the pleasures to be found around Fulneck, Tong-Cockersdale, Farsley, Farnley, Rodley and Calverley.

The first of the Society's "Walks" books, was published in 1981 with a revised edition (above) in 1996. Many walkers who enjoyed the first book asked for a second. So this second book was produced in 1983 to introduce six more walks of between one and a half and seven miles. It has been updated and fully rechecked in this, the fifth edition.
