by the Otley
Yorkshire Dales Branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association. A

insight into an important feature of the British landscape which should

Lady”.

Saturday 2nd Pudsey Family History Fair,
Pudsey Civic Hall, Dawson’s Corner. LS28 5TA
Wednesday 20th Evening coach trip to Wakefield Cathedral,
seat of the
Bishop of Wakefield. £10 per person includes coach, guided tour and

Wednesday 18th A walk in Calverley to see
the refurbished disabled friendly Cutting
and onto a tour of the Parish Church. Meet at Calverley Methodist

Wednesday 15th Signs of the Past in Eccleshill.
Join Ken Kenzie for a summer
local history walk starting at 7.00 pm at the Community Centre,
Stone Hall Road, BD2 2EW. Stout shoes recommended.
JULY
Wednesday 20th A summer afternoon in
Tong. Meet at 2.00 pm at the gates of
Tong Hall to walk down the drive for a guided tour of public rooms only.
Please park carefully in the village.
AUGUST
Wednesday 17th An introductory talk & guided tour of The
Leeds Library,
18 Commercial Street, Leeds, LS1 6AL. Founded in 1768 it is the oldest
surviving example of the ‘proprietary subscription library’ in the
British
Isles. 25 places at £3.00 each. Pre-book with Jackie Depelle.

SEPTEMBER
Wednesday 21st The Life and Times of Samuel Ledgard.
Part 1 - Birth to 1940. Presented by Don Bate
co-founder of the Samuel
Ledgard Society. Celebrate the history of this much loved and respected

Part 2 - 1940 to 1967. Society members
are invited to bring their own
memories and artefacts to this second session.

Followed by a talk by Ruth Strong – 200 years of life around Primrose
Hill.
DECEMBER
Wednesday 14th Noel Nostalgia – a
glide through Advent, Christmas and St Stephen’s
Day with Jenny Stacey. Legends include robins, mistletoe and female
reindeer plus histories of the tree, cards, crackers and decoration.

On production of this card a 10% price reduction is available on most of
the Society’s publications when sold direct during the membership year.
